Android updates make it even easier to use casino apps — distraction free.

Now, more than ever, our phones hold the key to the outside world. They’re how we connect with friends, get the news, and find a little time away to check in on the latest sports scores or play a quick game on a casino app. Google knows this, and that’s why developers are releasing six new Android updates that will make our lives even easier—and gameplay a little smoother.

With Duo, Assistant, Verified Calls, Sound Notifications, Action Blocks, and Google TV, Android is poised to simplify our lives so flawlessly that we won’t know what we did before.

1. Assistant will open up your favorite casino apps

Your Android phone already comes with Google Assistant, but now it has more skills. You can ask it to open or search across Android apps. Try saying “Hey Google, open the casino app" or “Ok Google, add gaming time to my calendar.” You can also use the upgraded Assistant to order food, check the weather, or get a news briefing. To find out what your Android can do, all you have to do is say, “Hey Google, show my shortcuts.” Then, you can get gaming — all with your voice.

2. Plan activities easily with Google Duo

Screen sharing is helpful on all those work Zoom calls we’ve been doing lately, but have you ever tried sharing your screen to plan an activity with family and friends? It might feel a little weird at first, but with the upgraded Google Duo, screen sharing on social calls actually makes a lot of sense. You can use it to look at a map together, browse through old photos, or look at the news. And if someone calls you with Duo while you’re busy, they can leave a video message for you to watch later. Even better, those voicemails—er, video-mails—have automatic captions just in case you can’t play audio.

3. Spam calls, be gone

Nothing sparks dread quite like a random number calling your phone. Could it be spam? A scammer? Or an important business call from an unknown number? Google’s new Verified Calls is the solution to this very common problem. With the Google Phone app installed on Android, a caller’s name, logo, and reason for calling will pop up automatically. Better yet, Google will add its verified blue check to show you that the business has been authenticated by Google. That way you won’t have to worry about getting spammed or scammed by imposters.

4. Sound Notifications for when you can’t hear

Whether you’re hard of hearing or tend to wear your gaming noise-cancelling headphones, it’s hard to keep track of what’s going on around you. Now you can set up Sound Notifications in your Live Transcribe app to get a flash, vibrate, or push notification when your phone hears a fire alarm go off, a doorbell ring, or glass break.

Live Transcribe can also do, well, exactly what the app sounds like it does. For those with hearing loss, the Live Transcribe app can turn the words people speak into text you can read on your phone.

5. Your phone can speak up for you

Early in 2020, Google launched Action Blocks, an app that helps people with disabilities create custom home screen buttons for easier phone navigation. Now, Action Blocks has an update that will help non-verbal Android users communicate more easily. It’s possible to use action blocks now to help your phone speak for you if you have something to say. You can select a picture communication symbol and teach your phone to say things like “yes” or “no” when you press them. Your phone might even say, “Excuse me, I have something to say” and make room for you to enter the conversation.

6. Enjoy the entertainment you love, using the casino app.

Google knows that we all use our phones for entertainment. So starting in the United States this fall and winter, the Google Play Movies & TV app is getting an upgrade. Soon, Android users will be able to use Google TV on their phones. No matter what streaming app you use, Google TV will help you find new TV shows and movies to watch.

That’s the perfect companion for your favorite casino apps. Now, it’ll be possible to watch a show and then play a game, all from the same device. Better yet, try opening the casino app with your Google Assistant, silence spam calls with Verified Calls, and get those helpful Sound Notifications when you have your gaming headphones on. Need to plan a gaming session with a friend? Google Duo can help. Watch the big game on your TV screen while the new Android updates help you stay focused on what matters: your favorite casino games.
